Dhamma School and Sinhala Learning
Leeds Dhamma School was inaugurated on 14th Sep 2013 (Formerly Yorkshire Dhamma School) under the guidance of Venerable Pidiwille Piyatissa Maha Thero, Head Monk of Leeds Buddhist Vihara. Currently there are more than 50 children of different age groups attending the Dhamma school. Children are divided in to classes based on their age where they are taught from basic principles of Buddhism and Buddhist practices to the more advanced concepts of Buddhist philosophy.
Children attending the Dhamma School, take an active part in the religious and cultural events organised by Leeds Buddhist Vihara. This enables them to develop their knowledge and understanding of Buddhism and its customs, Sri Lankan culture and traditions.
Classes are held on every 2nd Saturday of month at the Moor Allerton Sports and Social Centre, Stonegate Rd, Leeds LS17 6EL.
Leeds Dhamma School is funded by parents.
